The only thing I don't understand is that if I bridge the solenoid it starts so wouldn't that mean that it has the correct voltage going to it?

If you know how to do that,  I sure don't, except with a pencil.

Lol well the best way I can describe it is a hot wire from the battery and ignition to one big post and then a wire from the other big post to the starter. Then on the little posts there's a yellow/black wire that runs to a black box... lol I know that sounds dumb. Then a blk and white wire that runs from the other small post to the same black box

Well, someone posted a link to wiring diagrams. If you have it setup different,, might wanna think about that.

I think tomorrow I am going to start from scratch... I'm the second person to hack into this harness and it's causing nothing but troubles so I think it'll be the easiest way

Most likely. Seeing you say the solenoid clicks when you push the button, now check with a multimeter or test light whether power is coming out of the solenoid, to the starter motor with the start button pushed. If you can get it to turn over by bridging the solenoid, that would indicate to me that there is an internal fault with the solenoid. You are jumping the solenoid from the battery cable to the starter cable at the solenoid terminal posts, right?

Sounds like the solenoid is at fault then.

a toggle switch? sounds like he is jumping the wire that come from the handlebars ,not the battery /starter cables. I don't think a toggle switch could handle that kind of amparage

I'm gonna test the voltages on the relay today and if there good I think I'm gonna try another relay before I try to rewire the whole bike

When the solenoid relay "click"....it should be closing the circuit from the large terminals connected to the positive battery to the one connected to the starter.  If you have 12V positive to the battery side....you should be getting 12V positive to the terminal the starter wire is connected to - if not....then the relay may be not be working correctly.

Before you take the solenoid out of the system - run a jumper wire to the solenoid from the positive terminal of the battery.....and see if the solenoid works when you bypass your handlebar switch (you might have some built in resistance somewhere).

Well that sure seems to indicate the solenoid is not doing what it should be doing.
