Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Aaaaand another first!
Never seen that one here before. Though, I have a similar situation myself, somewhere... Pretty sure it's lawnmower related. I sweep up between jobs, and I looked down and saw a bearing yesterday. Dang near 1/4" diameter. No idea what it is from... I hope finding out isn't too costly.

Which one of your bikes is that from.....how many hundred thousand miles on it?

I have seen one other forum member with bad rear wheel/pulley bearings...he forgot/lost the spacer that goes behind the bearing in the pulley hub - so when he tightened the axle it created a huge axial load on the bearings....and they failed in a very short amount of time.

I think my balls (bearing) are scattered across the Texas Hill Country..  I only noticed it because I heard a clicking noise when I was backing Thumper on to the porch for a "jack it up" washing.

Interesting.. the local bearing house costs more than Ron Ayers.  I wonder if the stock bearing (that Ron Ayers sells) is NOT sealed?   I certainly want a sealed one to replace it, as I do ride in some hostile environment at times.
Guess I should replace the bumpers as well.  They may have taken a beating..
