Ask one of them to walk over, approach from the other side.
Just as he gets there, shove it over on him.
Small is relative.
Ever been hit in the nose with a
Soft ball?
They really aren't that soft.

A 650 was a big, bad machine in the sixties. Just because the masses are consumed with
Bigger is better
Doesn't make it so.
If you can't pick it up without having to see a chiropractor, it's too big.

Ask them if they plan on buying big to compensate or if they were ok with what works for them?
I just bought a 1995 Savage.  New to riding but I LOVE it.  Cheesy and I am kind of a badass.

It's not the size of the bike that counts. It's what you do with it!

...and mine can do everything I ask it to do. ...and very well I might add. I'm not jealous of anyone. She's a great dependable motorcycle.

We ARE talking about motorcycles still, right?  Huh

When I finally got my bikes serviced and ready for the road this spring the first one I jumped on was the S40.  Most of my riding is done on the Savage because of its' size.  Like Jog said, 650 was once considered a large bike with power to spare.

My S40 is quick around town and handles the twisties out on the country roads I love to ride.  It is simple, easy to service and you can do your own maintenance.  Great bike.

They do look kind of diminutive with a big guy aboard, tho. I guess that's what they meant. The engine is big enough but the bicycle is quite compact compared with a bunch of other cruiser bike.

Every rose has its thorn.
I don't know of any bike that satisfies every situation.
The best slab runner isn't the best for hopping across town.
The Salvage will haul a guy out of the boonies, down the country roads and into town and be a Hoot doing it. It's happy cutting through traffic. AND, it doesn't sound like it's screaming

Hey, Cops, I'm wound out and running eighty!
I hear crotch rockets from blocks away. If I was a cop, I'd be looking for whatever is making that noise.
The Supertrapp may have been bait, but if it was, they never bit me. I Did have a cycle cop give me the
Palm down signal once.. And, I did slow down, till he was outta sight..  Grin

They are small statured, no doubt. Heck, we have a member who weighs a whopping hunnert pounds..
Point out another bike that is inviting to someone so diminutive, yet, will drag a 200+ pounder around good enough to make them giggle.

Maybe it's Not the ideal long ride machine, but Beat Duck went from Florida, out to Burning Man, North, to Canada, east to above Niagara, south to home. He had to get tires on the trip.
It will Do more than any bike I know of. I have limited experience, but I will always remember my savage fondly.

I have a small one.

And you like it.

It's Your life.
You're the one living it.
When it's your turn to die
You'll be the one doing the dying.
The only people who can Possibly tell you how to live
Are the people who will do the dying when it's your turn.
Nobody can do that?
Nobody gets to tell you how to live.

Except me, of course, cuz I'm smarter than you...

Try jockeying a lifted 330hp K1500 with 18" of front bumper around... Getting ready to install an airhorn (Dixie, truck is named General Forrest and runs a couple Army of TN CSA battle flags). Twin FireStick CB antennas mounted on the ladder/flag rack. Pedestal mounted 20k pound rated winch in the bed. Full 1" thick black iron rear bumper.

In flat black and Kawasaki Green.

People tend to leave me lots of room...

Makes the custom Savage look like a children's toy.  Grin

If that's the case then we all do. They're small and a few around here might say they're lion hearted.

Anegative, anyone making that comment would never understand an explanation for riding a Savage.
