Decompression Solenoid

Si the cable for my decompression solenoid got frayed doing my last repair job (long story XD)

I have a new one i bought used off on an old savage that's in good shape, but have no idea how to replace it. Not home yet to take a look at it in person, just not familiar with the process and interested in what advice you guys can give me. Thanks! Smiley

I don't think replacement is any big deal.  You take the tank off, then replace the cable.  Make sure the there is enough slack in the cable to allow the lever to return to the lowest position......so the release isn't touching the rocker arm when the bike is running.  When you rotate the lever up with your finger you will feel when the slack is gone and the release begins to touch the rocker arm inside the head cover (unless the engine has stopped in a position where the cam is holding the exhaust valve open....exhaust stroke).
