jrobeson18 -

what write-ups do you need?

what write-ups do you want?

I'm almost down with the semester and finals are around the 9th of May, so I will be doing some wrenching after and I can document the process in a builders log ... provided it is something that's screwed up on my ride ... ain't gonna fix what ain't broke ...

Yeah seriously 100lbs. Give or take 3-5lbs, granted in only 19 years old. And 5'3" tall.
The 650 gets up with me on it.

And as far as writeups id about to the the cam chain install. But wheel alignment, stator replacement. As well as anything internal.

Well, heck,at 19 I might not have weighed that. At 21 I had a 24" waist and bought clothes in the boys department. Weighed about 110, not exactly a big dude..

Right there with you, every step. Lol.

Also another write up/ question. Since I pulled the right side cover I have found 2 springs under the bike. Dont know where they came from. Or what they go to. But they look like they go to the bike.. Not sure if ita part of the clutch side cover arm or what.

Kinda late for this, maybe it will help someone else.

Disassembly is crucial to winning. An organized approach is important. Clean up the work area, step one. That way, any parts that fall don't have camouflage to hide behind. And, anything on the floor hadda come outta the , well, whatever you are working on.

Justin has that right ...

CLEAN the work area 1st ...

PREP the work area; towels for laying out parts, cleaning, soaking up blood, etc...  Wink

ORGANIZE everything as you remove everything ...

REPLACE nuts/bolts/washer/clips to removed parts if possible, or keep them in a cup/bowl with the parts*

* I reuse salsa/butter and ice cream containers for this; place a piece of masking tape on the lid and write what there for ...

sounds tedious, but my $#it goes back together fast as F#@k ... and I can go riding that much faster ...

work like a surgeon ...  Smiley

Lol and I swept the floor and got it cleaned before disassembly. I just cant figure out where they can from in the casing.

No need to add to the difficulty of a job by making putting it back together some kinda puzzle.

Does one spring fit inside the other?
Are both springs made of more than one wire?
Two yeses = they go inside the tensioner.

Were its guts spat out?
If so,you're the second or third in ten years who didn't lose the motor.

It was grinded down by the clutch basket. Which is just damaged but not compromised.  All the aluminum fragments came from that. I haven't found any steel, strained to oil 3+ times. And started cleaning out the inner caseing.  It looks like the chain was pinched and snapped that way, I believe it because I have yet to find any magnetic fragments. Will keep flushing and keep updates.
