Nomination for Savage Iron Butt Award
04/22/16 at 16:29:44
If you all read the last few posts about the Twisted Sisters ride you all know that MM rode around 830 miles in about 17 hours. I think this qualifies him for the first ever Savage Iron Butt Award. I am not good with graphics so if someone wants to put something together to acknowledge this endeavor, go for it.
MM, all I can really say is WOW. My but hurt with the previous day's 300 mile ride.

830 miles in 17 hours on his Savage !!!!!! That definitely qualifies him for something.... Either an "Iron Butt Award" OR some therapy... I'm thinking more the second .........

830 miles in 17 hours = 48-49 MPH average
What I want to know is HOW MANY FUEL STOPS over that distance?

The longest stretch was 108 miles , couple more right at 100 , then there were lots of " Well-- 20 + miles to next exit , but I'm on 90's miles now
--- better get some fuel now !
" ,
The seat didn't hurt ... The right shoulder got tired of balancing the weight on the "Cramp-Buster" throttle pad , a throttle "Lock" would be better . The first 600-700 miles was a nice ride
.
A Five gallon tank ...
200 miles between fuel-ups
So with the front Kawasaki pulley the Savage thinks its running 68 mph when the GPS says we're doing 76 mph ground speed. That's with a 140/90 tire.

Now you gots to get over your Texas trip "butt burn out" and start fine detailing out the Blue Ridge Parkway jaunt -- you gots it all roughed in your head but now you got to put times and dates on the start/meet spot and 2nd night meet up spot and sleeping spots towards end of Virginia/Washington area, etc .....

You'll never find a motorcycle parked at a psychiatrist unless he owns one.
All we need is a full tank of gas and a sorta sunny day... and in a pinch even a rainy day will do.
I guess I'll start calling my bike a cycletrist.
after a week long session, I'm ready to go back to work with a smile.

MM, curiosity has gotten the best of me. How much oil did you consume on that day?

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

I think we should pay a tribute to Beat Duck. That guy did a 10K loop around North America.
