I took Marvel Mystery Oil to mine. Took a good bit of rust off with light pressure. Along with some eagle all wheel cleaner

I know Coke and aluminum foil will remove rust from chrome without scarring it. It might work to clean up oxidation as well.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

now that I'm looking over this rear wheel, it may take days/weeks of scrubbing to get the oxidation off, it ain't a light film, it's pretty heavy ...

Hey DeserRat. That is funny. I was wondering if anybody else had seen any of Mr. Cleanmouth's videos. He may not be the most well spoken individual, but he seems to know about bikes. Well I guess it is time to say so long to all the ----ers and ----ettes. Grin Grin Grin

I wish I would have known this before I went out and spent 30 buck on chrome polishes and cleaners.

Marvel Mystery Oil DOES NOT WORK. It only removes the very light white oxidation, the stuff you could rub off with your finger and a tissue.

I let the hub soak overnight in some OxyClean, it only served to removed oil, grease and brake dust.

I'm still hunting for a solution to this horrible oxidation

click on the photos and look at the enlarged images ...
it is HEAVILY oxidized ...

I'm looking into a table top blast cabinet, using baking soda/powder as media ...

Wow. That looks like it gets parked in the ocean. Perfect for a rat bike. I Think the only way to make that one nice again would be disassemble it and have it blasted. Or do it by hand with wet and dry. Then new spokes cause those rusty ones won't look right anymore.

The time your bike will be down, hours of labor, why not look for a decent used one?  That Is crusty.
