My Trail Tech Vapor had a temperature gauge on it, and I had it located on the left rear cylinder stud. On normal days and normal rides the temperature would be between 240-280 degrees - but on those 95+ degree days that you were stuck in city traffic, cruising down the interstate at 70 mph, or following Oldfeller up a gravel mountain road in 1st gear.....the temperature would reach 300. I would expect the stud next to the exhaust port to be significantly hotter then the left rear cylinder stud.
