A while back I think it was Dave that posted a link to Superbright for a flashing 1157 brake light bulb, but it is no longer listed. I found some on Ebay Wed and they arrived today. WOW!!!!! Waited till dark to try one and am IMPRESSED!!! The running light is brighter than the stock bulb, and the brake light flashes in pulses of 3. I give this item a huge thumbs up, 5 stars, or whatever you get the idea.
Here is the link to the listing--
http://www.ebay.com/itm/172029749478?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=...
He has a short vid of them working down at the bottom of the page. I think the bulb was about 18 bucks when they had them at Superbright, these are 2 for $15. Not sure how they would work for turn signals, but for your brake light it is IMPRESSIVE!

According to the ad they flash-flash-flash, flash-flash-flash, etc. There is no "constant on" after they flash ?

Nope, they flash all the time they're on.
Was just sitting at a light and saw a guy coming up quickly behind me, so grabbed the brake and he stopped back about 10 feet. Then I noticed him parking at the same store, so asked him if they were ''eye catching''. He said YES very. I now consider that money well spent.

Just got it on tonight. But both the running light & the brake light are brighter so that can't hurt.

If it flashes all the time the brake is on.....it is not legal. Flashing red lights are reserved for emergency vehicles.
It is only legal if they pulse a few times....then switch to continuous. I watched the video and I believe some LEO folks would have a problem with the way that flashes. The Superbright LED flashes 3 times then goes continuous for about a minute before it flashes again.

I wouldn't wanna be sitting behind someone with a flashing light. I don't leave the turn signal on in my car. I use it to get IN the turn lane.. And turn it off.

I do not hold my brake when stopped. The only lever that is held is my clutch, for a quick escape ...

yeah, it's a "level" daily commute for me ...
I would swap the bulb out if heading out of the metro area ...
thanks for that heads-up on the "legal" issue, I hadn't thought of it ...
