another way to do it...

home made tea
heavy wall 2.25 ID rubber tube
cut a 2" thru both sides or slightly smaller.
push a 2" tube thru with some gorilla glue on the outside.
open a hole in the 2" tube to match the id of the rubber tube.

If you run a dual filter how do you jet for something like this? I have mine rejetted with a K&N filter in the airbox and the side door off with the outside panel covering the hole. What do you do with the black tube from the head to the airbox when you do a cone filter?

You jet it the same as any other bike.....trial and error.  You install a pilot jet and see if the idle mixture screw is between 1.5 - 2.5 turns when the mixture is set properly.  You go for a full throttle run and see what size main jet makes the bike run best.....then you start fiddling with the needle to get the mid-range proper.  Dual air filters is not likely to change much of anything with the pilot jet.....as there is very little air flow through the filter.

CHANMAN,

jetting for dual filters isn't gonna be an issue, as Dave pointed out, it's a matter of getting the fuel/air ratio dialed in. Dave's instructions are what everyone uses when swapping out our stock box for open filters.

The dual filter setup is just for looks, as long as I keep the airflow as close to stock without restrictions, it should be fine.

The Lancer Jet Set in the MarketPlace has all the jets and parts we need to play around with while getting things dialed in.  Wink

Now if I can remember who sells the stainless steel cap-head kit for our carbs, I'll be golden.

You can add 16 filters if you want. The bike can only inhale so much air. You rejet to mix the proper amount of fuel with whatever amount of air the engine is sucking in. Multiple filters shouldn't make much difference beyond what one free-flowing filter can do.

Okay cool. I have the jetset from lancer. I might do a dual filter one day. It is pretty cool idea.

the idea came when I was being stubborn and was refusing to relocate the battery, but remove the airbox and intake guts. A lot of the single filter folks just mash up the filter under the seat, or run a 90° elbow out the right side.

I figured if I was gonna MOD a 90° elbow out the side, why not run DUALS and have a nice symmetrical intake setup ...

Maybe I could run a longer tube over the battery and then 90 degree down behind battery with a filter on both sides
