As some know I went down with the bike and the handlebars don't feel straight. I adjusted the triple tree to assure it was straight as well as the front wheel and fork tubes.
im down to the conclusion that the handlebars are bent. and I would like to bend them back to where they feel more even so I can ride. They arnt off by much maybe and inch and a half. but I have no idea how to bend them back. or if it is possible to do it without fully removing them.

I sure some will say... toss 'em, they're bent and they're compromised.
Yet you're not sure they are.
Take them off and lay them on a table, measure them there.
And put them in a vise to straighten, you'll just bend the riser bolts otherwise.

Saved me a little typing. Bars are cheap and new stuff is cool.

I was messing around with the risers lossened them a little and noticed it didnt drop down like my dirt bike did. So I pushed up on the "bent" side. And it seems to have fixed the feeling bent problem. I'm still going to get new bars the buckhorns arnt to comfortable to a 5'3" rider.
I'm waiting on Lancer to get back with me on shipping cost. After that they will be in the mail.
I didnt ride the bike after messing with the risers. The tank is off, working on sanding it down from the previous owner not knowing how to spray paint.
And the raptor petcock and brakes came in today.

Yeah, working on the bike kinda scares me. I think its going to fall. But its helping me learn the differences between cars and bikes. And I'm in love with the simplicity of a bike.
Been wrenching on the ol' jeep since I got it.

jrob, don't know if you meant "fall" or "fail", but I do have this advice to all on this forum. ALWAYS leave your bike in gear when parked. It takes very little forward motion to snap that kickstand up. And it's really sad to skin up a motorcycle when you're not even on it.

Yeah, you ain't kidding. Its in the garage on cinder blocks now. Got the new tire mounted and brakes done. Now to finish sanding the gas tank and have it painted. And then hopefully the verslavy tensioner will be available
