The Savage pegs do fold a little bit - but by not folding 90 degrees they do provide some protection for the chassis when/if the bike falls over.

Find one that trips your trigger, start planning.. it's definitely been done and I would have eventually done it, but I thought I'd never ride again, so, I sold it.
