Mine works with BOTH installed. I don't care if others have "issues" with my setup, I found one that works in my situation and will continue to ride as is ... ain't skeered ...  Wink

Nobody is trying to talk you out of using yours.

I don't recommend that anyone install an inline filter in hopes of preventing a problem - when it is just as likely to cause one.  The bike already has two methods of straining the fuel (petcock filter and needle seat filer - and both of them do a good job of stopping any dirt from reaching the float bowl.  All gas stations have filters on the pumps that keep junk from getting in your tank, and unless your tank is rusty inside....there won't be any dirt generated from the inside of the tank.

And....the fuel filters can be a big restriction in the fuel flow.  The stock fuel hose is 8mm inside - and most folks can't find that so they use 5/16" hose....and both of them provide a diameter of not less than 0.3125 inches.....a flow area of 0.0767 square inches.  If you install an inline fuel filter that has a 5/16" nipple, the inside diameter is most likely about 1/4", as a result of the plastic nipple being 1/32" thick.  A 1/4" orifice has a diameter of 0.25", and a flow area of 0.0491 square inches.  So 0.0491 divided by 0.0767 is is 64%.....so you only have 64% of the flow area the original fuel hose provided.
