K&L Angled Wheel Weights

I just received a package of K&L Wheel Weights.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041CABPM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_d...

They are made out of tin and will be difficult to crimp on to  the spokes.

Has anyone used them and how did you put them on the spokes?

Looking at them I think it is possible to just tap them onto the spokes with a hammer, but I don't know.

Rat,
They are no longer lead so they will not be easy to crimp.

They are made of tin, and the inside diameter is about .020 smaller than the spoke nipples.

If they are smaller than the spoke nipples....they aren't the right size and were made for a narrower spoke and nipple.  The weights should slide over the spoke, then slide down onto the nipple.....and a crimp to lock them in place.

I have been buying the chrome plated steel weights from Buchannan's.  They aren't cheap - but they are held in place by a rubber sleeve and change easily.  You want the size for the .281 nipple.

If you want to adapt the ones you have - you are going to have to spend some time filing, drilling or using a Dremel to make them fit.

Dave,

I think I am going to send the K&L weights back to Amazon.

When I measure the spoke nipples on the front wheel I am getting about a .275 measurement.

That could be.......Buchannan's has .281 spoke nipples and that is what they built their weights to fit.  They do work on the Savage.

Dave,

Thank you.

I looked at their website and will order a selection of the weights.
