One thing working against it is, nowadays so many workers wear them that they are nothing unusual to see. Bottom line, I practice hard braking and swerving and trust no one in a cage.

I was riding with some out of towners the other weekend. They come from a bigger city with even worse drivers than my home. When they see a vehicle at in intersection they do a little weave instead of any lights. They feel the weird movement attracts attention and it increases the side profile a bit. Seems to work for them anyway. They don't seem like stupid people. FWIW etc...

I think maybe it's target fixation
or maybe they're more scared of a biker in leather than an motorcyclist in dayglo
who knows? I just know I had more close calls that way, and still do, than wearing the leather
