Here is a pic of my wifes with the one inch lettering.... it faded on a few letters when I used a harsh chemical to clean some bird crap off the tank, so I just used a permenant marker to recolor them black.

No.... that is why when I cleaned the tank with rubbing alcohol they faded....

I'm sure if you emailed the site, he would tell you if they can be coated
... great guy to deal with.

He does have a 30 day warranty, if you don't like the looks of the product when you receive it, you can return it within 30 days.
