Where does the jack go?
03/05/16 at 15:37:27

Hi All,

This seems like a simple one, but sometimes I wonder if that's what my parents said when they first saw me.  I kid.

I can't for the life of me figure out where to place the "arms" of a jack.  I have the mc jack from harbor freight and no matter where I place it (front to back on the bike) it is hitting the bracket that goes to the exhaust pipe.  That doesn't seem to be right to me.

Anyone have a picture of the under side and where they stick the jack?

Thanks

I use pieces of OSB and 2x4's to block up the gap to keep it from hitting all the crap under there; including wiring and cables on both sides.

WATCH OUT for that stuff, it's critical to your safety and well being.  Wink

I have a HF lift as well; although, I'm not sure which one you have.  If I remember correctly, I have a 10 x 10 piece of wood that I place between the bike and the lift.  I usually slide it under the bike on the opposite side of the pipe.  I remember the piece of wood is extremely beneficial. perhaps this will help.

Best regards,

have the same jack i cut 1/2 inch piece of plywood 12x13 inch and liquid nailed to the jack rubbers. just cut a relief for the muffler clamp and shove it under from the kickstand side .  put the kickstand pad on a piece of 2x4 it will slide right under . add a few eyebolts  to hook your strap too

Thanks everyone.  I was a bit nervous there, but I powered through with a little help from my friends.   Wink Wink Wink
