Hello everyone, I have purchased a four wire tachometer from Ryca

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a video or a in depth tutorial of how to install this thing? I read up some on ignition coils and such but find myself a bit confused at the moment... any help is very very very much appreciated! Thanks!  Smiley

Awesome yes that's very helpful, just to clarify am I seeing the ground wire wrapped around that screw? And the other wires just slid into the spade connectors? Is that gonna hold? Is there any soldering involved? Seems almost too easy...  Smiley

Ground Wire:
Yes, I wrapped it around the screw.
But a better way would be to crimp a ring terminal on the
end of the wire and put the ring terminal under the screw.

Other Wires:
Yes, I slid them into the spade connectors.

I've been running with all the wires as you see them in
the photo with no problems for 3 years now.

Wow that was not as easy as I thought it would be, but still I got her hooked up, just one issue now... the ground wire is just barely hanging on to ground screw, it's quite flush so it's very hard to wrap it. Also that screw is in there TIGHT darn near stripped it trying to remove it... anyone have a tip on a way to attach that? Solder didn't work and was probably a dumb idea...

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about how I attached the ground wire.
The picture makes it look like the wire is wrapped around the head
of the screw, but it is actually underneath the head.

I loosened the screw enough to wrap the wire underneath it then
tightened the screw back down.
The wire you see in the picture is the little bit that squished out
from under the screw head when it was tightened down.

Be careful to use the right screwdriver when you try to loosen it.
That's a JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screw head, not a
standard Phillips head. If you don't have the proper JIS screwdriver
then file off the pointy tip of a Phillips screwdriver until it fits
all the way down snuggly into the screw head.

That screw has thread locker on the threads so it will be hard to remove.
Try rapping the screw driver with a hammer to loosen it.

As an alternative, find another place to ground the wire to the frame.

Put a ring tongue terminal on the wire for a more professional job.

If you don't need to remove the coil for some other reason, then
it's probably not worth your effort to resort to other measures to
remove the screw at this time.

I'd find another location on the frame for the ground wire.
You'll probably need to splice in a longer length of wire to reach
whatever location you choose.

For stripped Phillips (or JIS) screws, I cut a slot with a hacksaw or Dremel and try to unscrew it with a flat head screwdriver. Be careful though! Once you cut the slot, there's no going back. Make sure sure absolutely no way to remove it with your JIS or Phillips driver.

That's the method i use, too, but with a cuttoff wheel on an angle grinder
That is if a chisel on the edge isn't an option
often you can apply a chisel to the side of a stripped screw and turn it with a hammer and chisel, IF there is room to do so
I like my air hammer for this
