Savage LS650 = Boulevard S40
Anytime I have to order parts I always order LS650 parts for my S40. The dealers can't seem to find S40 in their parts catalogs!

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Yup, same bike, as long as it's late model enough to have the 5 speed
51.50 you have a link? I doubt any of us can tell you a lot from the postings but we can't tell you squat without knowing seeing the bikes in question

The link is:
www.mc-warehouse.com
. a 2001 Savage $1400 and a 2013 S 40 $2950. I tried to post pictures from thumbnails with no luck. I haven't been able to convert them to jpeg yet.

The 2014 would certainly be the one I would choose.....low mileage, good condition, passing light switch and 4 way flashers, two piece rockers arms, one piece seat, and tires that you can still ride on for a few more years...and the cam chain tensioner is probably fine for another 8,000 - 18,0000 miles.
The 2001 has a dent in the tank, it is due for a cam chain tensioner inspection, and it has a "branded title"....what is that(salvage or theft recovery)? And the rubber parts are 13 years older than the other bike. It does not have the newer electric controls that provides a passing switch (flashes high beam on headlight), or the emergency 4 way flasher switch.

Someday I will be old......But not today!

I'd agree with that, buying a bike with that many probable issues should cost less than 1400

That's a pretty sweet deal on the '13!
