Trickle charge - wet cell battery
02/18/16 at 17:43:34
I just bought a brand new wet cell for my 07 savage. Here is the link for the battery I bought.
https://www.batteriesplus.com/productdetails/cyl14la2xt
It is installed and it works great! My question is: should I be leaving it on a trickle charge when the bike is not in use? Until I sort out my engine knock, the bike will not be getting much use.
Here is the link for the trickle charger I bought, or at least i think it is a trickle... The box says "1.5amp maintainer" "Battery maintainer" and it also says "trickle charger"
http://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-SEM-1562A-CA-Charge-Battery-Maintainer/dp/B0...
I have also took a picture of the box (see below)

i'd hook it up maybe once a month or so
The savage doesn't draw current when not running, so the battery should be fine with that

Don't leave it connected indefinitely. I have a Battery Tender Jr. and run it for just a few minutes (until the light stops flashing and turns green). I probably plugged it up once a month "just because". I don't winterize my bike. I ride 11+ months a year. Can't really say 12. January is just too brutal sometimes!

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

Bloody wimp!
Don't laugh, I don't ride unless the temp is above 50* F
My hands and knees get cold. Age I guess.

I have been wimpy lately. It was 66° today and I thought it was too cold to ride!
In my defense, it was very windy!

My wife bought me some fleece lined jeans for Christmas-wash my mouth out- they are a great improvement over normal jeans.

I just can't help it... doesn't matter who says something, if I can twist it around and make it kinda funny, I'm gonna.

I have fleece lined wind pants, when I remember to pack them along, they make a big difference
