I just checked a picture in the tech section, and the cam chain looks just plates and pins. Are there bushings in there too?

Badwolf....looks like you are correct.....not pins in the "silent chain" style that is used on the Savage Timing Chain.

You mean 'not rollers' and the pins only connect the plates together, the plates ride directly on the gears.

Is this the treatment?

OK, So the pins connect the plates and transfer power in ''shear''.
As they go around the gears and the chain bends the plates rotate around the pins, causing wear.
Coating the pins before assembly would give them a harder surface and they should wear longer. Same would apply to the holes in the plates.
The outside of the new chain would be a nice gold color, but I don't think the ''teeth'' really wear.  Basically just cosmetic on the outside, but pretty.
I'll go for one, and maybe put a window in the side cover.

only the pins are nitrided, plates are plain.

I'll take one.
I had to do the versy CCT at 10K so I'll prob'ly need to replace the chain in another 10K which will happen pretty quick for me.

Any new news?

I am going to make a cam change soon.....and I might want to go ahead and install a new cam chain while I have it apart.

I have made several attempts to contact Borg-Warner but without success so far.  I have left messages and sent an email.  I am not impressed at this point.
Another attempt will be made today.

I'd like one. I'm only a few parts away from a complete 'performance' rebuild.

Y'all old timers know your stuff!!! I'm going  to raise my hand for one as well. I have a bike with 16k and i'm sure it can benefit greatly from this.

I know what this is, and def will like to get one. Bike is close to 17K...and i'm sure this was never taken care by the original owner.

So I'll like to start fresh.
