I am ordering a custom set of 12 Wiseco Forged High Compression Pistons that have the stock 94mm bore.
This will enable you to upgrade your engine from the stock 8.5:1 compression ration (CR) to 10.5:1 CR without having to bore your cylinder.
Any good cylinder may be used with just a good hone.

They will be offered for sale for same price as the other sizes I have offered before, at $199 +$15 shp/ins. within the US.
If you are outside the US then shp/ins. will be $35-50, depending on your specific location.

This will take 3-5  weeks to get them manufactured.
I am taking requests for these if you want one.
First come first serve.

What kind of hp can we expect from a bump in compression to 10.5:1?
For a thumper, wouldn't this actually benefit torque more than hp?

SmileyThat's the way I understand it. These sound like the answer to a café racer maidens' prayers . Shocked i.e. All that much more torque on tap when you come out of a corner. Or, in my case, not needing to grab for gears when I want to pass in as short a distance as possible.  Cool

The stock bike gets about 30 hp and maxed out performance will be towards 50 hp for the displacement.  But this is a thumper, doubt you'll get over 45.

Each mod you do will get about 10-20%, this mod will also cost you premium gas.

The result will be more "push" from each power stroke, as the smaller combustion chamber volume results in a little stronger pull on the intake stroke......and for more expansion on the power stroke.  So the result is that you will get more torque - but you will also get more HP as the formula for HP is torque x rpm.  The Wiseco will not result in any noticeable increase in rpm.

You will also notice that the increased compression results in stronger compression braking....when you back off the throttle the bike will slow down a bit faster.

And.....while the bike is apart is the best time to do the Versy oil plug, and maybe even a better cam!  This will help you get a bit more HP to run that larger rear tire or gearing changes.

94mm Forged High Compression Wiseco Pistons are now in production and should be available in a few weeks.
They sell for $199 each + $15 shipping in the US.

Somebody getting Wiseco pistons made to fit the Savage was long overdue!  The bike has been in production for 30 years.........You might even be able to get Vintage Plates in some states!

REX is in a 1986 frame now so I should be able to get the  plates for him !
