surgery, recovery report

Well seems it has been awhile since I have been here. I thought I would stop in and give all of you an update..
Nov 24, 2015, they replaced my left knee joint. I had a few problems as far as getting sick from anesthesia and pain meds. Got that under control and was discharged thanksgiving day!!
I started physical therapy the next day. They gave me some p.t. in the hospital yet it
was not much.

After a few weeks my knee would only bend back to 70 degrees. Target is 125 degrees. It was still swollen and quite painful. I did Tongue t stuff at home as far as therapy and seemed no matter what, it was stuck at 70.
So back to hospital  jan12 for a manipulation. I was put under again then Dr came in
and forced it to bend. I was dischargedtthat ssame day and on way home stopped for some p.t. I had therapy every day that week.

So now I am happy to say my knee bends to 105. It h Lips Sealedas been as long road and lots bof hard work with a few tears.
I am off all prescription paim meds. I no longer use a walker nor a cane. I am even driving myself now!!
As far as riding shadow well that will come eventually. I am not quite ready and yet iIknow it will hhappen soon!!
I go to tthe Dr on Monday and am hopingto be released to go back to work.
I Have stayed away as figured I didn't have much to contribute. Also the 1st month I spent sleeping from pain meds whennot going to p.t.
So I am better still have as little limp yet not bad. At least now every step is easier and less pain than before the surgery.  Smiley
