From the pics, I can't the difference between them and 58's...
What's the difference supposed to be?...

Some boots are plastic... I thought that was the difference.
Not seeing much of a problem here.

Fork boots are like tube socks... not exactly swiss made precision products.

The bellows aren't bigger than the 58's? I don't have any 58's, so what do I know?

The difference is not in material, that I know of--- They're both supposed to be made of some sort of "poly-vinyl" or something like that.  Roll Eyes The point is this particular pair of boots weren't molded quite right. I probably would have went along with it just fine had they been made well so they would work properly, but this is a little much. Sad

Now, if the next pair of boots is just as bad, I will know that their production methods simply lack precision, and I will have to make do with them or be faced to seek other brands. I don't think I want to spend too much money on simple fork boots. I don't have those kinds of funds. However, I may be willing to spend 15-20 bucks per pair for one or two more designs to see which I like best. I may be able to get a really good deal on some 58's.

Hmmm... I may have found a technique for effectively shortening the 58's.

looks good... But then, stuff like that is risky, especially since I'll be using the gaiters for utility more than looks. Undecided

Anyway, I went ahead and bought some 58's. Daystar may have sent me some replacement 83's, but I doubt I will like them. My guess is that all the 83's for some reason aren't made well, but we'll see. I haven't received the others yet.
