Yeah, I have sets of Dave hex-heads for the carb. I was wondering what size is involved in switching the stock muff for a Dyna.

What size of JIS screwdriver is needed for the muffler swap? #2?  #3?

Want a set of JIS for super cheap? Go to the dollar store.  Not the Dollar General or the Family Dollar, but the hole in the wall store that smells like a foreign country.  They will have JIS drivers and bits.

Sonny,

As I recall all of the muffler and header bolts and nuts are hex head.

You have to be careful with the fasteners holding the header to the head and you should us a 12 MM socket with a 1/4" Drive Ratchet If you break one of those fasteners off you will be in a world of hurt.

For clamps you will need 2 genuine Harley Davidson Muffler Clamps, and to attach the muffler to the frame extension Harley has a "Carriage Type Bolt" that works perfectly. I think both the camps and the mounting bolt take a 9/16" Socket.

Thank you. The JIS driver must be needed to get the stock muffler off...

I think I remember a Phillips screw on the stock muffler. It's been a while. I just used a Phillips screwdriver on it. It may be a JIS screw.

The only time I used a JIS screwdriver was for the screws in the carb.
