Well, you Could elaborate on the deeds done and tell why the brother didn't have your back.

Whatever happened, good for you for standing up. And bleeding,

Whatever happened, good for you for standing up. And bleeding,

her brother was at practice (football player)
The offending person approached her and, from what she told me (i didn't see this part) started with sexual harassment, then moved to sexual assault
I happened along about the time things got ugly (providence? intervention?), and simply walked it to him
his buddy must have been nearby (maybe wanting to share?) and came up from my right and behind me
normally I would have known he was there, but I wasn't really registering much aside from the guy I was working over
I saw the tire iron out of the corner of my eye and started turning and ducking, and it caught me above the hairline over my right eye
luckily I have a head like a rock and while I went down, I didn't go out
I get very nasty when I'm hurt and scared, and he wound up in the ER
with a severe knee injury and a severe concussion
The creep who initiated the whole mess saw me do this while covered in my own blood and ran like hell
Hell, even my friend's sister was a little afraid of me after that

Well, that's kinda messed up, but you know what society has done to teach people about agression and violence. I'm impressed. You got hurt doing the right thing, and didn't quit even though you got nailed in the head. You got up, meaner, NOW that they not only outnumber you, they have resorted to weapons.
My rule is.
I don't START trouble.
I have the right to Do Anything to stop it.
Folding a knee backwards is fine. Breaking bones, getting the weapon, wearing it OUT on them, Fine.
Id like to think you would have done the same thing for anyone being assaulted.
I carry a knife. I survived Odessa Texas when it was the murder capital. Someone is walking around with a big scar on a hand.
He punched me while I was sitting in the car. I didn't see him coming, but w a s distracted by his friend on the other side of the car. I knew stuff was bad, had the knife in my hand. Looked left just in time to block. He punched the blade. We circled the ER for hours.a very bloody towel on the floorboard.
I saw a guy years later at a gas station. Scar from between the fingers to the wrist. Didn't speak, just filled up and went on.
He would have broken the bones in my face. The handle hit my nose hard enough to bruise it. And bruising me, back then, just wasn't easy.

My Uncle Jackie taught me hand to hand combat, the same way he taught it in the Army around the Korean war era, after the first time I got ganged up on
Part of that was deliberately injuring me to teach me 'you're not dead, keep fighting'
After the second time he realized I had that down already, I just get mean when I'm hurt, period
I grew up in bad neighborhoods, and that reinforced it 'never stop unless you're dead
as for societies views on use of violence, well, sheep have reason to fear wolves, why not dogs, too?
I wondered if anyone would get that I folded the guy's knee backward

A side kick to a knee can be camouflaged by hand movement that would look like the beginning of a punch, focusing their attention high, and a low kick allows more weight put on it.
Nobody taught me anything, but I got bullied and threatened.
I Looked at how they were standing and really thought about how they could proceed, then I thought about how to counter and I practiced in the house, working out with forty pounds, till I could snap off forty French curls in under forty seconds. And I had 28"thighs and a 30" waist. But I avoided trouble as much as possible. I don't like fighting. None. But wrestling with friends was great. The bigger the better, as long as they knew that it was just in fun and don't break anything... bruises and scrapes , p a rt of the territory,,

Since I didn't go to the ER with the head wound, you gotta know I was pretty tough. I don't fall down and cry when I get a hard knock.

That's a happy little avatar there. Definitely a case of taking lemons and making lemonade out of it.  Cool
