Winter has arrived in KY!
01/11/16 at 04:52:16

We had some really great weather this winter.....December had days when it was up in the 60's.  I even managed to squeak in a short ride in January when the temperature was a bit below 50 degrees.

On Saturday night we went to bed with temperatures up in the 40's, and by morning it was 30 and snowing.  By the end of the day we had dropped down to the 20's, and this morning it was 8 degrees.

Now that the roads are covered in snow and salt.....it is officially the end of my riding until the spring rains come and was the salt off the roads.

My wife bought me a powder coating gun for my Birthday present, and I bought myself an Eastwood TIG welder for Christmas.  So I will spend some quality time in the garage powder coating, and learning how to weld with a TIG!

Great way to spend the non riding season
it's 32 degrees here this morning, not surprising, any time I buy a bike or riding related item, it gets cold or rains  Roll Eyes
must appologize to my fellow Texans for bringing the cold  Sad

It was 19 degrees here this morning. I need to get some better gloves before I ride again.

Kris

There is a leather shop here in town that has Leather w/big cuff gloves that have a zipper in the cuff that holds a "Rain Mitten" .   They are great for cold weather !   I've had mine for 2 or 3 years , seems like I paid $17-$18 +- ?? ...

My west side of the house thermometer read 20 F this morning about daylight .   I was putting wood in the heater !

We've had a mild winter so far. I have done a few rides in low to mid 40's temps but this morning it was around 32. I could not believe it when I heard my neighbor crank up his bike. I know he rides almost every day but I figured he would take the car today. Tough son of a gun!

Went for a ride today,.. in the low 50's...
So warm in the sun, I didn't wrap up much...
Not so warm in the clouds at 50 mph...
I'm still cold...
Once that chill gets deep in yer' bones, it has to leach out... Grin

I'm slow at leaching... Huh

Hot soak in the tub Serow, nothing will warm you quicker
44 is miserable riding IMO, at least with the gear I have, but not as bad if you have weather protection, I've discovered
The Scootanic blocks wind on the legs, that s kinda nice
