Ryca inspired E-bike
01/08/16 at 12:17:05

Hello all. Long time lurker; finally signed up.

I have an 87 Savage that I am looking for inspiration to build into a cafe. I have come across several bikes that have caught my eye but needed to share this one with the forum. As an electrical engineer this is definitely inspiration.

I searched the forum but didn't see it posted previously. I apologize if it's been covered before.

So what happens if you get caught in that rain on that bike....with all that electricity and no fenders to keep the water under control?

Ride that puppy through a puddle.....and the rider will be instantaneously wet right down to his undershorts!

Sorry for all the rips on your very first post,... no offense, and you are welcome at this site...

...it's just,... I feel like that bike leaves something to be desired in the aesthetic department...
A little more form over the function...
Maybe a foe gas tank or sumthin'... paint some fins on the battery... Grin

We Luddite's have to be eased into this stuff...  Huh

I was wondering what it would look like converted, now I know.
Personally I am not a fan of the seat.... and would have made a rounded or curved cover for the contoller/converter?
Not sure the savage frame is the best to use (all steel) wonder what the specs are on it?
I'm always one for new tech, love the stuff... but I like long distance comfort too....

Thanks for the post... i'll look around a bit on that link for the specs on it.... Smiley

no rear seat cowl / fender cover?
reminds me of all the 'bobbers' out there that are actually just 'disassembled / sawzalled' contraptions
not to rip but the guy who built it should have kept on going until he had a complete cafe racer instead of a  a hacked up bike

It's definitely an improvement over the yellow cruiser with car batteries on it.

I like the looks of this one a little better. I think it's mostly just having the different seat. A cross between this one and the Savage would be best in my opinion.

I agree, put that cafe seat on the savage e bike and you'd be doin ok.

Don't get me wrong, if this is just some guy building these, I'm as impressed as heck!

If I had built that yellow e-rebel myself, I'd proudly ride it to work on a sunny day!

I dunno if the Cafe' seat helps too much.....without some other bodywork to help with the aesthetics.

It appears the bike in the 1st photo doesn't have a rear brake...perhaps the motor provide enough "engine" braking?
