Bike is a 2008 650. Has 1187 miles on it. Bought it for 1500 in April. Through a battery in it and she fired up right away. Got it from my father in-law, who got it on trade from his sister in-law for a remodel job. Got a killer deal on the bike. Rode it a few fun bike compared to lugging around my Harleys. Put a few hundred miles on it, and really started tearing into it in August. I travel for work so only get a few days every couple weeks to work on it.

Should have taken more pictures along the way but kind of just forgot. a little bit of fabrication work. Just have a few things to clean up and finish up. Still need to find a kickstand to use and how to mount it. Not sure I want to spend the money on the RYCA piece might have my machinist make it.

Fabricated a rear subframe to hold the seat in place, fabricated my own rearset bracket (again RYCA a little too much, they are a monopoly for these bikes lol but not stopping me), had my exhaust guy bend me a custom piece to clear my brake linkage.

Brake linkage made with RYCA brake assembly kit. RYCA clip ons (love them!), RYCA lowering kit for the front end. Few other things I will think of that I have done.

Tank is off of a 71' Suzuki T550 (titan), seat is ebay fiberglass special. stock front fender. Thinking of painting it the same color as the tank but not too sure yet.

Your racer is coming along nicely.

Not to many issues mounting the tank, did have to relocate the stock mounting tabs, I just re-welded them to the new location. It is a little close to the decompression solenoid, but still clears it just barely. Original fuel pump/petcock on the tank was garbage (new one from Suzuki was $350+) so just replaced with Harley pet thingy, 22mm threads on a Harley petcock who would have thought metric on a Harley.  

I think I am just going to keep the front fender as is I don't have any problems with it.

need to do the bigger rear wheel and possibly raise the rear with new shocks.

The T500 was the Titan (2 cylinder twin), the GT550 was the Indy (3 cylinder).

I guess the tank you used is the T500, as the GT550 was first made in 1972.
