It seems like it would be safer than current modular helmet designs. In an accident I don't know how you would put force on the helmet that would cause it to pop open. It's pretty easy to see with current modular designs that a sharp hit on the chin would risk having the clip fail and all of a sudden have an exposed face.

I also like the idea of better wind coverage when it's cold out. Not so much when it's warm out though.

I also most likely would not be buying one. That's just because I do some auto racing as a hobby and they require Snell certification...and I doubt that this would get that. I don't think that there are any current modular helmets that they certify.

BSTON brought up what I was thinking. One well place hit and it opens like nut shell. NOPE.

Besides, It doesn't fit the "look" for my style.

I actually think that this one WOULDN'T open like a nut shell if it was hit. Not unless it was a hit to the side of the head that crushed the mechanism on one side and had enough g-force to open the latch on the other side at the same time. I think it would be a fairly extreme hit that is also going to cause some issues with the rest of your body.

I'd wear this over an open face helmet any day of the week. An open face helmet is just leaving too much exposed skin that I'm pretty partial to...even to stupid stuff like a beetle or small rock.
