The 68 black bomber isn't really the same as the 80's Nighthawk, we're talking 20 years separation here, and Japanese companies didn' move as slowly as american companies back then
The Nighthawk line was a light weight bike that carried it's weight well enough that the MSF used them, in 250 sioze, alongside the Rebel for their basic Ridercourse for decades, and a few of them are still soldiering along in that capacity
even a 750 NH was a light (for a 750) easy to handle MC that was nimble and quick

(the S40 will get the jump off the line, but the NH will show it it's tailight by the top of 2nd gear)
