the CB 450 is a pretty good bike, I with Honda still made the 450 Nighthawk, I'd really like one of those

I like the 450 Rebel/Night Hawk motor too.   Cool

Probably has power like a Savage . but as a twin  Smiley.

Be nice to have a new one that might last as long as a Savage .

The Nighthawk actually made 45 HP, 15 over the savage, and had a 6 speed gearbox *drool*

Yep, had one of those 6 speed, 3-valves-per-cyl 450 twins. The 6th gear was an overdrive, worked well for cruising on the flat or mild hills.

A friend got a new late '60s CB450 back in the day. It was a beautiful bike, aimed at unseating the British twins, which it surpassed engineering-wise. But it was heavy.

The other guys in school had Honda 65's and 50's and one guy had a Suzuki 120 single. The 450 reduced everybody else to no-class status. I got to ride it around the neighborhood one time, scared the bejeezus out of me. It felt like straddling a steam locomotive. How times have changed...

Art : Here one is :  Thing is : this and the S-40 would serve the same purpose .     Of course 45 Hp. and 6 speeds and twin cylinder smoothness  Huh Huh Huh .
If the Honda had a single carb , I believe I would do it !  Smiley

I had a Honda CD 175 with a single Carb and it worked good (for a 175).

Is it me or does it look like the forks are bent?
Either way 1000 bux for a 1982 motorcycle is sorta steep, let alone 2500, unless it is SOOPER PERFECT, which you don't know untill you look at it in person

I think the headlight brackets make it appear that way.

still too much for a 34 year old Nighthawk, unless it was gold plated
I think you are right though

The linked review of the CB450 gives a wet weight of 430lb. The weight was carried higher than on a Savage.

It felt heavy as a bank safe to me at age 16 or 17, but all I knew were some friends' Honda 50's, 65s, a Suzuki 120. Those things felt like bicycles.

This is a pretty good article, with a bunch of MC history in it.
