prohibition didn't work
drug laws don't work
drinking and smoking age restrictions ?
traffic laws?
not texting no cell phones while driving laws?
Good points, but I hope his message is not the same demagogue of gun control..and more to how we deal with this threat.
To be fair we were outraged as a nation, for the most part, when the NSA was outed.
It was a tool they, those who try to assure our safety, must have thought we needed. Also, they were scolded on enhanced interrogation techniques, another tool they in the intelligence community thought had a purpose.
He needs to (in my opine) stop with the word games and honestly say sumtin to this effect.....
Yes, the terrorist are using the Muslim faith as their scapegoat, but lets remember, the vast numbers of Muslims, an OVERWHELMING amount, have absolutely nothing to do with these terrorist who are trying to hijack their religion.
Anger and fear MISDIRECTED will only make combating these factions harder, at the expense of all free loving people around the world.
We must think with cooler heads, and that includes me, as dear to my heart I am about gun violence, it is a total and separate issue, than dealing with these terrorist using their misguided interpretation of a religion as motivation.
And so on, and so forth.....
He needs to tighten up the threads of the garment we all share, instead of trying to rip more threads away from it.
If he owns his mistakes, just owns them without a "but" and pledges to not let his ideology get in the way of his colleagues, who too want to rid the world of this scourge, then I think he will be welcomed and appreciated.
Lets hope he plays humility, before pride, as we all know, together as one, we are stronger than any threat they can muster against us
