strong winds, oh what a joy!

Rode my bike to work today, about 32 miles each way. I checked the weather for precipitation but not for wind. I should have checked for wind. I was on the HOV when the winds got so bad that I actually thought something was wrong with the rear wheel. I pulled over, got off the bike and checked it all out. Solid as can be. Yep it was the wind alright. I kept the speed to 60-65 and and slowed a bit more on the overpasses and made sure I was in the middle of the road as it was that much worse on the overpasses. Other than that, cool I finally got to ride a bit.

Keep a relaxed grip on the bars, and the bike self corrects
that doesn't prevent seats with mohawks,
but time will fix that problem

Well, just got home. Much nicer ride this evening.
Art, it wasn't so much fighting to keep a relaxed grip, it was just a matter of the wind deciding what part of the road I was going to be on, regardless of where I wanted to be. It was a learning experience.

That's the only thing that makes riding "less than enjoyable". I don't like fighting the wind and the wind winning.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!
