lubricate speedometer cable seal?
11/21/15 at 06:49:13

I'm replacing the cable seal. Should I lube it before installation as I would a oil filter gasket, wiping it down with new motor oil (or, I've got general purpose grease and lithium grease in my shop also) or install dry?

Whatever you put on it, will leach down into your oil...

Just put a bit of your crankcase oil on it...
