Can we get specs on wheels& tires?

Front wheel is stock with Dunlop K70, 3.5 x 19".  Rear wheel is Ryca aluminum wheel, 18", with Dunlop K70, 4 x 18".  They are actually decent tires for around town.

Thanks for the info and insight into your build. Love your vision for the bike.

Great conversion......lots of good pieces making it work.

Good job on a tire choice - the rear 4.00-18 is actually a size that is made to fit on a 2.50x18 rim.

I have the EarthX LiIon battery in mine, and it is working well.  I just finished my 3rd summer on it and it has never run down and never been on a charger or tender (they don't recommend using a tender with a LiIon battery).  It provides more room for a proper sized filter and weighs absolutely nothing......it feels like they forgot to put anything in the plastic case!

Singles: I notice the fork tubes are pulled up in the Cheneys about 2". How much of a difference in handling does that make?

Ya,  LiIon would be rad.  In the end, I'd like to make a new battery box that is smaller, and a hinged seat that lifts up for easy access.  Less conspicuous switch gear would be cool looking.

My forks are now back to stock length, so the bike height/stance is very near Ryca's.  Aestheticaly, I felt the Ryca stance left the front just  a little on the high side, the front tilting up a bit. I now have the bike in a  level stance. I think the rear shock length helped more than anything.  You can lower the from as much as you want by raising the tubes in the triple, to a limit of 137mm according to GaryinNJ's fork improvement mod, if I'm not mistaken. My fork slider top is 137mm below the lower triple now, no contact at full travel.  If you want to lower it more, you'd need to put a spacer under the damper rod spring to reduce the height that much further.  I wanted full fork travel.  Riding to work tomorrow, 75 down here. Will be so nice to ride without chipping teeth when I hit a bump now. I'm stoked! Cheesy

The handling is great on these steering wise. Probably even better on the cafe versions with narrower, more modern rubber.

Need to paint my tail piece now too.

Interesting rear brake setup...I never thought of that. How's it perform?
Sick looking bike! Nice job.

Thanks.  Brake works just fine. I could not get the brake rod to fit around my supertrapp, so had to go over. Works just the same, and no rod contact with anything.

I may have to give that brake set up a try. I'd like to use a rear swingarm stand, but the brake rod is in the way. Your method of attachment may solve that problem.

I tried to make a brake rod that went over the swing arm.  I first tried it with a 1/4" stainless rod, and the rod was too flexible and the places where the bends were made just deflected too much and made the pedal feel spongy.  I then increase the rod size to 5/16" and it was better - but the under the swing arm rod turned out to be a better fit on my bike.

A cable might be the most work - but it might provide the best working pedal.

To make that work, I had to bend the lever arm, twist it a bit, get a stiffer rod like Dave and  jimmy up a spring and clip to activate the brake light.  The only way I could get it to fit though. All that metal is soft and bendable.

Breathing better now. My VM36 was so close to the Ryca battery box the old Uni filter was all mashed and compressed, reducing airflow. She snorts now!
