They did that with the supermono. Replaced the top cylinder with a dummy con rod to smooth it out. Those old single scrambler shake like a dog shitting razor blades. I like the new scrambler but can't see the point of the 400 when the 803 is hardly any more $. The 400 engine is not grunty and thrives on revs (if its anything like the older jap market 400 Monster and SS Junior )

Probably not really aimed at the US. I think it's likely that it's displacement/horsepower is intended for markets with tiered licensing systems where new, and newish riders are restricted to bikes with displacement, and or hp limits.
