mine is not really a "car" garage at all.... but the bikes are happy in there Smiley

One of these things is not like the other. Smiley

I really wanted a 3 car garage the last time I moved but it just wasn't happening with the budget and the type of house that my wife wanted. I settled on a 2-3/4 car which has worked out well but I definitely need to get my storage to be more efficient.

Too bad cement slabs are so dear, I've no other ideas for a surface you can actually jack a car up on
well, maybe timbers, but that could be near as dear as a slab
If I had the money, I'd have one with a car lift and a moto lift
And of course a ridiculous tool collection (actually I may have that last already, I have specialty tools for cars I don't even own  Grin)

great video there from new yankee. Plans so far include above door storage for over the garage door, a workbench, and one large standup cabinet. Im sure I will eventually add enough storage to cover all teh wall studs and negate the need for drywall. Which gets me thinking, maybe i should be proactive and add insulation behind each set of cabinets. Eventually the whole garage will be insulated. Haha

Insulation is a very good idea....winter or summer.

My first garage was not heated or insulated, and the soffets were vented.  We would get really cold weather for a week or two and the concrete floor would get really cold.  Then we would get a warm rainy spell, and the damp air could come into the garage through the vented soffets....and the warm damp air would get near the cold floor and the moisture would drop out and coat the floor with a thin layer of water (like a glass of ice water in the summer).  All my tools were getting rusty even if they were in the toolbox, stuff got moldy, and it took days for things to warm up and dry out.  Once I put drywall on the walls and ceiling and insulated the garage.....no more dampness after cold spells.

OSB isn't much more expensive than drywall, can be painted, is more durable in a garage, and makes it really easy to hang stuff on the wall.

Have you bought a billfold lately ?
Not only are they empty, by the time you pay for it, there's nothing to put in..

oh I had to park in it when I got home. And there is plenty to go in it, more than can fit in fact. The truth of the situation is that once it is done the lady will get to park in it while my spot will get filled with furniture while we rip up the carpet in the house. its a neverending process.

Uh-Oh........you don't have any place to turn the car around in the driveway!

The slab outside the garage door looks like it tapers way too fast.....you are going to have a real challenge to stay on the concrete when pulling in/out of the garage.
