Well, here's an interesting bike...

Pretty interesting setup.  It's a single cylinder with 2 exhaust headers; one for each exhaust valve.  Supposed to be the same bike as the "Mash Five Hundred" and has a Honda motor.
EDIT:  Just read this in a post:  " It's a contract manufacturer who built a version of this bike for Honda in South Africa. "
It's got a nice classic style like the Suzuki TU250 but with a more usable displacement.  And a reported 86 mpg.
Looks like it's going to go for about $4600.

A lot to like there...

Just 2 qualms with it...
Why is a Mash 500,... 400cc's?...
Why does it need 2 mufflers?...  Save me the weight, please...
Otherwise,.. I really like it...

PS... I gonna' call my bike a 850 and see if it gets any faster... Grin...

I'm with you 100% on calling the Mash a "500" when it's 392.
I love how the Savage/S40 is a 652 and Suzi didn't try to market it as a 700  Shocked

HA.  Kris got his in while I was typing mine!

I like it
BUT
what is the company's rep for quality?
As many chinese scooter riders will tell you, just because the company copied a Honda engine, doesn't make it a Honda engine
I get that they actually made engines FOR Honda, but that was with Honda standing over them with the big stick if they botched it
what is their own individual rep?

maybe they're selling all the cast offs and stuff that failed initial QC inspections?

I'd try one, but not at full retail, maybe at 50%

Genuine Scooter Company is a great company with a solid reputation; a little bit of turmoil over the past couple of years with Phil McCaleb getting pushed out.  He started the company originally as Scooter Works to supply parts for old school scooters.  Then he split off Genuine and started selling rebranded PGO scooters which are made in Taiwan with excellent build quality.  There are a lot of 40K+ mile Genuine Buddy scooters out there; I actually sold one with 40K that was still running super strong.  Never needed anything other than oil, tires, a replacement CDI and some bearings.  They also sell the Stella which is made in a factory in India that used to manufacture the old Vespa P series steel-body scooters for Piaggio.
These are definitely not cheap Chinese scooters and the folks on the forums have very low regard for junk bikes.
Anyway, there's even a really strong forum for Genuine scooters.  Two actually; Modern Vespa and Modern Buddy.  The Buddy scooter is highly regarded but, unfortunately, the site "Modern Buddy" kinda sounds like a gay hook-up site  Huh
Many of the folks who ride Genuine scooters also ride MC's and love simple, single cylinders.  Like us  Cool.
