I found the recipe online. I only made half a batch as they are gluten free. Nobody else around here will eat them; but they are oh so soft and chewy.  Tongue

Get to be my age and it doesn't take much to keep me happy . . . a ride on a little motorcycle and some good cookies . . .  .life is grand!  Cool

The kids used to argue with me that Santa Claus likes chocolate chip cookies. I'd say "No, he likes oatmeal raisin".  Grin

Best stuff in the world (along with root beer)!

Take your basic peanut butter cookie recipe and add chopped unsalted peanuts to it. Life doesn't get much better.

I like Oatmeal cookies....but not the raisins.

My aunt made Oatmeal Scotchies that replaced the raisins with Butterscotch chips.

They might be a bit too sweet - but isn't that the goal?

I find it odd that the possession of oatmeal cookies we are allowed to buy up here in the North West now, would get many of you thrown in jail for a long time.

My wife makes amazing snicker-doodle cookies.  Recently (at my suggestion/request), she added cinnamon chips to the mix.
Oh.
My.
Gosh.
So good.
We made homemade cinnamon ice cream and crumbled them on top.
Pure goodness.

Then, she made a batch of pumpkin snicker-doodles.  Also amazing.
Like Gus, I also prefer my cookies soft, not crispy.

LOL! I like this post, and I will surprise the wife and bake those cookies, as I have all the ingredients, she will fall out!

Growing up in a farm foster home (12-18) I learned from start to finish how to cook and can and smoke meats.
Later in life I learned that my original family (met my real grandma) had a cook book they all passed on to the oldest girls. Well, my dad did not have any girls, so they gave the book to me to continue on the tradition.

The book has really old recipes and i'm supposed to add my own and republish it. I'm thinking of actually cooking all the old dishes over and putting them into todays cooking directions, as the terms sometimes state " a medium oven", or "a pinch of" or "a palm cup of", so folks today would be kind of "WHAT?".

Anywho..... I taught my wife to cook, and at 50+ (we married in 86') she is doing ok Smiley  I gradually stopped cooking and left it up to her, but now that i'm not working and she is, I think i'll start up again.

Thanks for the post Gus Smiley
