a different kind of topic

This is a different kind of topic.

Just wanted to thank everyone that responded to my questions about valve adjustments.  The moderators, Verslagen ("use a light, aim high"), Dave, and Serowbot have helped me significantly.  Also many others have contributed to give me insight, suggestions and confidence ...  thanks.

I've done valve adjustments on other bikes, but never on close, cramped quarters like on the S40.  With the 'tricks' and ideas that everyone suggested, plus just keeping at it until it became 'familiar' made it work.

By the way, the small, angled feeler gauges from Motion Pro worked for me.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Some of these guys have "been there, done that". You'll find more helpful expertise from these "amateurs" than you are likely to find from pros with 30 years of experience. This site has saved my butt more than once.

BTW, find the Clymer's manual thread and download it. With it and help from these guys, you can tackle any job the bike throws at you.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!
