Kris
I've got 3 of these NUVI-200 units.   The maps are not new but they work just fine (you can up-date them for about $50.oo).   The unit that the bikes share gets more use than the others and its showing its age , but it still works good and till it dies I'll use it.  I think the most expensive one was still under $20.oo delivered to my door !

I've got a larger Garmin unit that has life-time updates $150.oo+ for that one (it lives in the car).

The NUVI-200 units are't worth stealing so I can just leave it on the bike when I go in somewhere.   There are a lot of 17mm ball mounts that clamp to the handlebars.  I got a plastic one and glued the mount to it at the right angle and been useing it ever since !  Wink    The unit can be removed from the mount and put in the map pouch of my tank bag (That's what we did getting to South Texas last April).  Cool

I'd buy another one !  Smiley

Kris, the low end GARMIN eTrex series has basically a scrolling map, compass and way point functionally. Many available used under $50-75 US.

disclaimer - DO NOT OPERATE MENUS WHILE RIDING. Wait until your at a pit stop, red light, gas station etc ...  Wink

Thanks guys. I'm liking a few ebay auctions at the moment. Just got back from a ride and now I'm wondering if I want to fill my bars with a GPS mounted to one side. [sigh] Maybe I'll find one to use in my car ( Shocked) instead.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

If you get one of the mounts with the removable ball....you can just pop the GPS and the mount off when you are not using it.  You can wait until you are hopelessly lost before you get it out of your saddlebag, backpack or pocket.  You can also mount it in the center of your handlebars between the clamps.....nothing going on up there anyhow!

Google maps on your cell phone now allows you to download a section of the USA map to your phone's memory, and it will then give you turns and point to point guidance based off the stored map.

No intermittancy any more due to no signal, supposedly ......

Hay

I just (ebay) got a Garmin 205W (4.5") .   Come to find out at the Garmin site I was able to down-load the waypoints from my old Garmin to the newer one !  ($17.00) delivered to the door.  Cool   I also got a mount made for a phone but works just fine for the Garmin ($7.95), clamps to the middle of the handlebars .

I'm spoiled to having one now and would miss not having one.  Roll Eyes

One of the features is :  Points of interest , then nearest fuel station !

Right handy !  Smiley
