Inexpensive alternative to "socket risers"

I needed about 3 1/2" worth of rise (total) when I installed the Triumph handlebars a couple of months ago. I was looking into riser sets and different options of spacers. I wasn't willing to go the "socket riser" route. None of the sockets available locally had a nice enough finish on them and they were all stamped with brand/logo/size.
I found these on eBay for about $18

In my opinion, they look much better than the sockets, they are a full 2" tall...giving me a total of 3 1/2" with the standard risers on top, and came with all the correct sized hardware. They have the correct size hole in them so they center up perfectly with the stock LS650 risers. The finish also matches very nicely.
If you like the idea of using tools as accessories on your bike, that's perfectly cool. If not, these are a great alternative.

I used some of these....

ebay has them every now and then... only cost me about $14...
Mine were from a C130.... approximately 2 3/4" tall.... worked fine with some grade 8 bolts. I sanded and polished them up a bit (aluminum)...

I cut down the stock risers from my 2013 S40.
The finish matches the clamps and there is enough material left over for a second set of risers.

Those look nice, Stu. I take it you're sticking with the buckhorns?

Those arent the stock buckhorns. They are 31" wide Triumph Bonny bars (which are almost identical to the Harley Sportser 883 stock bars). I lost 2" in height when I got rid of the buckhorns so the bars felt a bit low (but no where near low enough to hit the tank). These spacers just bring me back to the highest point of the stock bars (before they "droop") It was the droop I hated.
You can see in this pic that there in no"post bend droop" on the new bars..
