Hey guys and gals, thanks for all your messages.
First things first, the pico of the backbrace... is a library pic with a professional model !
Me... I look a lot more like the "All American dad" - Italian Style...
As for how things happened, I saw a gap with the side of my eye, checked in the mirror and as I was halfway into changing lanes the car in front of me (in my "old lane") slammed on the brakes,
in the typical commuter
I-was-checking-my-mail-on-the-smartphone-and-didn't-notice-the-lane-had-crept to-a-stop style - too bad I couldn't prove it.
Had I been a bit more reckless, as in "
college student on his TMax", I would have changed lanes, sped to the office, and enjoyed my well-deserved summer holiday.
I crushed T11-T12-L1 - I feel like a million $ with the back brace on, but in the mornings when I get out of bed I feel the need to slip it on asap because my back feels "jiggly-wobbly" without it.
Kim, thanks for all the good wishes, and my best to Genie and Shadow, but who's Hugs ?
Lancer, Verslagen, JOG... I could never leave this Forum out of spite, or "just like that"...
Incidentally, the Savage has been sitting and collecting dust since Feb.2014, so it's time I gave her a good wash and "got on with it" to get her up&running again, and start with that "1950's" conversion I have been daydreaming (and buying parts for) for years...
Something like this, perhaps ?
Too difficult, from the girder fork to the rear tire size (can't change tire size) so it'll probably look more like this
which is still acceptable - albeit with a balloon rear tire...
...
Now, let me go over to the Tall table and whet my appetite
