Geez, glad you're ok.  Wink

...and I was feeling bad for hitting a deer Saturday night with my car!  Roll Eyes Things could've been much worse for you. You seem to be in good spirits! Keep it up!

Hey there Maurizio, so very sorry to hear of your "escapade".   Roll Eyes
I understand your trials and tribulations completely.
It has been 4 1/2 years since I took the tumble of my riding career.
Fractures of L1-L6, with a compression fracture on L1 that nearly cut my spinal cord.
Several broken ribs and an assortment of bruised internal organs.
I wore the body cast for 6 months and it was a year to get back to normal.

I trust you will be back in order in a much shorter time.
I will be praying for you my friend; for a speedy recovery.

I was able to bring that bike back to riding condition fortunately.

Take care dude, and I will be looking forward to hearing of your first ride.   Wink

I've wondered where you've been. I'd be happier if you had left because you were mad.

So, just to be clear, you changed lanes after checking the mirror and it wasn't clear.. so, that's all you know? What's the take away? Turn the head? Or, was the driver accelerating and was just outta view of the mirror?

I'm glad you're gonna be okay.
Print the back Brace picture and stick it on the fridge?

Hey guys and gals, thanks for all your messages.

First things first, the pico of the backbrace... is a library pic with a professional model !  Grin

Me... I look a lot more like the "All American dad" - Italian Style...  Wink

As for how things happened, I saw a gap with the side of my eye, checked in the mirror and as I was halfway into changing lanes the car in front of me (in my "old lane") slammed on the brakes,
in the typical commuter  I-was-checking-my-mail-on-the-smartphone-and-didn't-notice-the-lane-had-crept to-a-stop style - too bad I couldn't prove it.

Had I been a bit more reckless, as in "college student on his TMax", I would have changed lanes, sped to the office, and enjoyed my well-deserved summer holiday.

I crushed T11-T12-L1 - I feel like a million $ with the back brace on, but in the mornings when I get out of bed I feel the need to slip it on asap because my back feels "jiggly-wobbly" without it.

Kim, thanks for all the good wishes, and my best to Genie and Shadow, but who's Hugs ?  Huh  Grin Grin Grin

Lancer, Verslagen, JOG... I could never leave this Forum out of spite, or "just like that"...
Incidentally, the Savage has been sitting and collecting dust since Feb.2014, so it's time I gave her a good wash and "got on with it" to get her up&running again, and start with that "1950's" conversion I have been daydreaming (and buying parts for) for years...

Something like this, perhaps ?

Too difficult, from the girder fork to the rear tire size (can't change tire size) so it'll probably look more like this

which is still acceptable - albeit with a balloon rear tire...  Lips Sealed ...  Grin

Now, let me go over to the Tall table and whet my appetite  Wink

Sounds like you used up a life.

Glad to hear you made it through, and with full use of your extremities. Lucky. Always difficult to read about motorcycle accidents, my mind has trouble avoiding the dark places when I think about it.

I wish you a speedy recovery, my friend.

On a side note, you sir, have excellent taste in bikes! Can't wait to see your conversion!

Getting back from a two week trip with the wife....

Sounds like you had quite an ordeal! I hear ya about the pain....

Glad to hear you are improving in health and moving on as best you can.

Keep getting better....

And I like the second one..... I don't know why.... but it looks like something I would definitely like to have in the garage.
