sqealing front brake

Hey gang,
Out riding the other day, the ride felt squishy. checked the air pressure and the tires were a bit low. Filled them up (Ahhh, much better!) but now by front brake is really squealing. I looked it over and it looks fine, all the bolts are tight and aligned. Could it just be a buildup of brake dust? Wondered if the filling of the tires is pulling the wheel one way or another. Think the rotor might be glazed or something? The bike is a 2003 and only has about 1600 miles on it when I got it. I've added about 100 now (yay!) and am not hard on the equipment but I am using the brakes equally. Thanks!

The stock pads are known for that. Try more pressure on the front brake. See if that helps ..
Look at the rotor, would hitting it with some sandpaper and allow it to buzz the pads and polish itself help? If you sand, go across, not around. 100 grit, quick pass, just fuzz it, break the glaze, don't try to get it all.
Probably be ahead to just grab ECBs,,

Pulled the front caliper off and hung it to the side with a cord. Took it around the block (don't try this at home kids!) and there was less noise but I could still hear squealing. Put the caliper back on and then went out again. Stood up on the rearsets and bounced up and down. I think the sound is coming more from the rear. Huh

Every time I bounced downwards it squealed more. Possibly I might loosen the rear brake rod a turn. What may be happeneing is that when the rear suspension compresses, the arm goes up but it pulls on the brake linkage, causing the brake to just barely contact the drum. I heard it when I was banking and accelerating in a corner too, thinking the suspension is compressing a bit then. Any thoughts? I'll try a few more things and give you guys an update. I'll be ordering some new brake pads anyway.

And he has a RYCA Cafe'.....which requires a very loose belt. The swing arm is no longer horizontal and the belt tightens when the shocks compress.

Beltwise I'm good. Before I put the shocks on, I cycled the suspension. It was just a hair tight at the highest point but that would have put it beyond what the Ryca shocks would have allowed anyway. It was rubbing on the Ryca beltguard a touch, but 5 minutes and a 10mm wrench and I was fine.

I'll try and get it out tomorrow.
On a different note, since I took the caliper off and put it back on, it's grabbing much firmer. I'll be ordering pads and shoes tonight. Can't hurt to get a set of bearings as well. Cool
