I have the same year, and I bought a new seat off of my buddy who has a 2006 S40. Bolted up just fine for me. Seeing as your name is "Bobber Mike", have you considered a pan/solo seat rather than the normal s40 seat? There's bobber seat kits sold that will bolt up with minor modifications.
