Reply #15 - 09/19/15 at 18:07:34 just checked mom's computer, which is a newly purchased dell refurb as of april last year. none of this is on the computer, none of the borg updates and not the hidden borg file. auto update is on. since there are no personal files on the computer, I don't plan on changing anything.

Gotta love those Dell refurbs -- you are running a full commercial OS if you are running a Dell Business Refurb and MS is steering clear of doing any shenanigans with the business side of things (Dell) at this point in time.

Your Mom's old Dell might be the healthiest/best machine out there right now. Their turn will come later, after all the consumer stuff is done.

oooh....oooh (horshack immitation).... i just happen to have a dell also !!!!... mother-in-laws old pc... durn burn it... i might not have another monitor... I used the mom-in-laws led monitor for the sister-in-laws laptop after she closed it on her cig lighter and shattered the monitor side of the laptop.....

looks like a trip to the salvation army is in store! I have two more keyboards and some old mice left also.. rofl... my garage is going to look like an old pc graveyard!!

Here is PC one.... i'll call it Mad Dog because of the CD drive.... its been running two days now.. non-stop... no uploads detected....

Ok, I was a little off..... it isn't a dell... even better.... its a "COMPAQ" ~!! oh joy!

Well, not really, i'm hoping I can get it to recognize a wireless usb adapter... hopefully... I reeally don't want to take it back into the house to plug it in manually...sigh....

Ok, was going to revert my little laptop back to 8.0 if they would let me... however, after arriving back at home, it fails to reboot.... TPM error... it cannot find the hard drive.

Not sure whether I bumped it hard, or its just age... so that experiment is out.

Stay tuned...

P.S. The Linux 17, 32 bit cd will run on its cd rom though.... could use it to surf the net.
