Any ideas on drilling a lower triple clamp to work with conventional handlebars ?

I assume you are working out from Gary's ideas over in his fork improvement post: http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1421689358

Some don't trust the strength of the softer aluminum, but I reckon it should be doable. Eliminating the big rubber dampers, you'd only need to drill say a couple of 1/2" wholes, have a couple of lugs welded in and drilled to accept the riser bolts.
Or you could just drill holes through the triple through to accept the riser bolts and run the chance..
