seat feels wobbly
08/16/15 at 07:38:15
i raised the front end of the seat up with rubber stompers, but now the seat doesn't feel very secure. it has a bit of play in the front. i don't think the front end is resting on any part of the frame and am worried the cheap plastic will break eventually. any ideas?

You can add a little rubber to the center.... I found a computer wrist rest at a Dollar store (basically a bit of rubber with a peel and stick bottom)...
Even a small block of wood with contact cement will do...
It ain't rocket science...(lucky fer' me)...

I cut up small sections of a rubber bungee cord to act as spacers. Use silicone to "glue" them to the seat. They're not glued to the frame. Been like that for years.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!

I cut wine bottle corks to the length I need and silicon glued them to the original bumpers to make up for the gap after I raised my seat. The artificial wine corks actually work better than real cork.
The glue didn't last so I drilled a hole and re-glued them with a screw going up through the cork and into the stock bumper. The screw head is countersunk inside the cork so it doesn't scratch the frame.
Originally had black corks but just took a Sharpie to the replacements.

I used door bumpers. The stock bumper fits into these perfectly.

I hope you didn't just "stick" the rubber under the front after removing your bolts.
Buy the stoppers from a local hardware store AND longer bolts, of the same MM, use washers on top and bottom of the stoppers to keep the bolt from pulling through the rubber.
